Because I am a non-profit addict (more on that in another post), it is not enough for me to work for one or consult with others, but I also joined the board of a burgeoning non-profit last summer as Treasurer. With their new website launched this week, I'd like to introduce this unique, innovative, and growing non-profit called MotiveSpace (http://motivespace.org/). They are a non-profit property developer and real estate resource seeking create vibrant and affordable commercial spaces and serve non-profits in their real estate and development needs.
As a relative start up I have the opportunity to not only support their accounting and budgeting and shape their financial reporting, but to inform and clarify their strategy and model as they seek to fill a unique niche in the intersection of property development and non-profit support spaces. The board is also comprised of some really sharp, engaged and fun individuals coming together to share their expertise in law, financial planning, organizational development, property development and fundraising in a dynamic and rewarding way.
Check out their site (http://motivespace.org/) and keep an eye on this non-profit as it grows and makes an impact in our community in Portland and beyond. I think MotiveSpace will be one to look out for.
