First day might not be the right way to put it. I have been working with Peter and Henry for about a year on a very limited basis, consulting on monthly and quarterly reporting and meeting structures and they, oddly enough, were the former landlords for World Pulse, before moving to a new location in SE Portland. We worked through a mutually beneficial lease agreement and working relationship in a time of transition for their new property and for World Pulse. They are property owner/ managers with heart and soul and an appreciation of beauty and community.
Having built a strong, transparent relationship with them I now have the opportunity to work with them in strengthening their budgeting and reporting, develop accounting policies and best practices, consult on systems and strategy, and smooth operations. And I get to work in the space World Pulse used to occupy, which is now three beautifully redone spaces, but in the opposite corner in which I used to reside.
While technically it's not a first day, it still feels like a first day of a new job. It's a first day in an evolving relationship.
